iLHA (island) is the new single from Canadian Madeiran multidisciplinary artist Sarah Linhares. The music blends heavy bass, celestial & subtropical sounds with ephemeral and haunting voices that are deep, soulful and up-lifting. The song is part of her self produced EP ‘Subtropical’ which will be released with a book of poetry in January 2024.

Ilha ( Island ) was inspired by Madeira Island where our artist lives.
It tells a dark fairy tale about the spirit of the island. How people are drawn to her, seduced by her beauty, and fall under her spell. She tempts them to stay and then enslaves them with endless desire for the promise of paradise. Just as the full moon eclipse casts shadows and then reveals the truth ILHA reveals the sensuality of embracing the darkness and the empowerment to be found within.

Paradise is a state of mind.
